In the midst of C30 five door reports circulating the web, we confirmed with a Volvo representative that a five-door was not part of their product planning. Instead it would be something else, which left the door open to speculate a sportback / wagon version of the C30 possibly to be called the V30.
Fellow Scandinavians at AutoMotorSport Sweden have followed through on the story with reliable information that it will be a V30 wagon along with this excellent artist interpretation of what the vehicle may look like. To be built on the new Ford Focus platform the V30 is set for launch some time between 2010 and 2012. Volvo's research shows positive public reception for a larger XC100 SUV in America and Russia but strict CO2 requirements are forcing Volvo to think small, possibly by way of an XC30.
