Motorcycle Accident in srilanka
If you are a motorcyclist, remember this: your vehicle is small. If you drive a standard motor vehicle, remember this: motorcycles are small. Minimal visibility is one of the main things that lead to motorcycle accidents occurring.
The road is filled with drivers who are used to seeing standard-sized vehicles on the road and therefore these drivers are more prone to looking out for vehicles of this size or bigger. This is called immediate association and it can be deadly. When drivers sees a motorcyclist, they may look past him or her and only see the road in front of him or her.
Motorcyclists who are involved in a car accident should seek medical attention immediately. Upon receiving medical attention, he or she should also seek legal attention. Here are a few items for motorcyclists to help avoid an accident in the future:

-Keep your distance from all objects: This should be practiced especially at night. Drivers are more likely to notice motorcycles that have a lane all to themselves or have a distance between themselves and other vehicles.
-Wear proper gear: Remember, you do not have a seat belt. In the event of an accident, you may become airborne and will need the protection of a helmet or other safety gear.

oldest car in Sri Lanka car market
The oldest car in Sri Lanka was re-launched this week with a new product in the market with some industry news -- the local car market has a considerable growth potential with 12 out of every 1,000 Sri Lankans owning a car at present against India`s seven per 1000 people.
These details were revealed by Giovanni Cenere, Regional Manager for Asia Pacific, FIAT Automobiles S.p.A at the launch of the first three models from FIAT`s new generation of cars. The local agent plans to market 600 FIAT vehicles this year. FIAT first entered the local market in 1903 through Colonial Motors. In 1973, flamboyant entrepreneur Upali Wijewardene began assembling the FIAT till 1976.
From then the agency was retained by Colonial Motors before Premier Automobiles took over in 1993 until 2005 when Euro Motors came along.
Cenere told reporters that the demand for cars is dependent on a number of factors. The key variables are per capita income, introduction of new models, availability and cost of car financing schemes, price of cars, incidence of duties and taxes, depreciation norms, fuel cost and its subsidization, public transport facilities etc.
The relationship between FIAT and Sri Lanka is over one hundred years old, he said. The new models were launched by Euro Motors at a ceremony held under the auspices of the Italian ambassador in Sri Lanka Pio Mariani. Euro Motors showcased the first three models from FIAT`s new generation of cars saying these car models which encompass unique customized features created specifically for the Sri Lankan market, are the FIAT Panda, the FIAT Doblo, and the FIAT Grande Punto .
Euro Motors Chief Executive Officer Mahinda Jayaratne said that his company is looking forward to a strategic partnership with FIAT both for its enhanced business potential and for the exciting possibilities for potential car buyers in Sri Lanka.
Buying A Car tips - Used car precautions
Whether you're buying from a dealer or privately, make sure any used car you're thinking of buying is in fact what the seller says it is.
� Sometimes dealers pretend to be private sellers. When phoning about a car you�ve seen advertised as a private sale, ask: �I�m phoning about the car you have for sale.� If they ask: �Which car?� be on your guard.
� If buying privately, arrange to view the car at the seller's house � this way you can be more certain the car is not stolen.
� Pay for a vehicle history check to see how many owners the car has, if there is any outstanding finance on it, if it has been written off, etc. It is vital that you carry this out before deciding if it is the right car for you.
� Compare the data from your research and the V5C (the vehicle's logbook) to the car itself � make sure it all matches. If it doesn�t, you could be looking at a stolen car.
� Ask the seller questions about their time with the car, why they are selling it, and check that they are the owner, or that they have the owner's permission to sell.
� Examine the service history, and note the locations of the garages who have carried out work. Does this match the rest of the car's history? Also, check invoices to see if any other work has been carried out.

HYBRID TECHNOLOGY AND NEW ENGINES AT SEOUL MOTOR SHOW

The Seoul Motor Show was the first place new versions of SsangYong's C200 Compact Urban Vehicle (CUV) saw the daylight. The C200 Eco (Green color vehicle) puts up a green flag with a diesel hybrid powertrain that should reduce CO2 emissions by 50%. The Aero version (Black color vehicle) will be available with 2.0 liter diesel (with 175 hp) . C200 will go into production later in 2009. |
We first saw the standard versions of the C200, designed by ItalDesign, in Paris last fall. Both the Eco and Aero versions will be available with manual or automatic transmissions. Elsewhere on its stand, SsangYong displayed a diesel hybrid version of the Kyron. Diesel-electric hybrids are not cheap, but the potential for incredible MPG ratings would appear to be unmatched by any vehicle without a plug. | |
SsangYong's new C200 model has been shown at the Seoul Motor Show in two versions and with three choices of power. The C200 is smaller and lighter than current SsangYong models, promising much improved fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions. Dubbed a compact urban vehicle (CUV), the C200 Eco uses diesel hybrid power and the Aero version has a choice of a high torque 2.0 liter diesel or turbocharged 1.8 liter petrol engines. | |
